The whole office has a golf tournament tomorrow, so therefore I am not able to spend another day at Adamson Associates on Friday, meaning today is my final day here. I really started enjoying going to the office. There are some really nice people here and the atmosphere is amazing. Twice a year there is a little trip with the office for team building, and almost every Friday there is a barbecue at the rooftop. The firm itself is impressing, during the days I learned so much about what it takes to be an international business, and I also learned a lot about the jobs itself: about the different positions within Adamson Associates.

Due to Greg, one of the principals, I met a lot of people. Everyone was willing to talk to me and to explain things about their company. I got to attend private meetings and WebEx calls. All of my observations and opinions on the things that I experienced can be read in my report, which has turned into a kind of journal.

Yesterday was another day with interviews: I spoke to several people about their tasks and much more. I also noted the answers down, so I could include them in my report. Furthermore, I got an explanation about virtual reality and what the use of this software is to Adamson Associates. Today started with working on my report, but I also got the opportunity to try the virtual reality glasses myself! It was a truly amazing experiment, leaving me a bit sick for the following hour. But it was definitely worth it. I got to see the 3D building from the drawings of a railway station of San Francisco, so I saw the building as if I was standing in it. With the glasses on, you can turn your head and see every part of the building. AA will start using the glasses in future projects for 2 purposes. The first one is to attract the client; it is a nice way of giving good impression on what the building will look like. The second purpose is to check on themselves; walking through the building gives the opportunity to see the strengths and weaknesses of the building.

The internship has definitely reached my expectations. It has showed me the profession of architecture, as well as what it takes to be an international company. Everyone speaking English around me felt natural, I had no problems communication with people. This is just a quick overview of my days here, I will give a more detailed one in my report.

The final thing that I want to mention is the great hospitality of Maggie and David. They were so kind and welcoming, showing me and my mom around the area as well as showing me around the office. Even though Canada and the Netherlands are so far apart, I feel like there was no culture-barrier. We had never met them before and still it felt like their was a bond. I phoned with Maggie today just to chat. Well, that was the last day of my internship. It was best to take the plane of Monday afternoon (due to costs etc) so that leaves me with 3 to explore the city and learning more about Canada itself.
